Icebergs of the World

ICEBERG
An iceberg is the large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier and is floating freely in open water. Icebergs come in all shapes and sizes. The term iceberg refers to chunks of  ice larger then 5 meters across. Smaller icebergs known as bergy bits.

The shape of the underwater portion of  iceberg can be difficult to judge by looking at the portion above the surface.

Iceberg B-15 is the largest recorded iceberg of the world. It measured around 295 kilometers long, 37 kilometers  wide with the surface area of 11,000 square kilometers large. This iceberg is placed in the Ross Sea, Antarctica.
